Hey friend,
I hope you’re having a good start to your week! This is going to be a short devotional, but hopefully it is fulfilling to your heart. This week I want to focus on gratitude.
Each morning we should wake up grateful for another day here on earth. Grateful for strength and life in our bodies. Grateful for what God is doing in our lives, the good and the bad. Grateful for every little thing that we typically take for granted each day.
Gratitude is a choice. There’s not a secret code to it, it’s an inside job. The amazing thing about gratitude is that we can choose it, even when we don’t feel it. No one else can stop us for feeling gratitude but ourselves. When we choose to focus on the good, so much can come from it. I believe that it’s a pathway to abundance.
What the mind focuses on, it feasts on. And if you want to know what a person’s focus and feast is, all you have to do is listen to words that come out of their mouth. Our conversations and what we say, speaks volumes on our heart’s posture. So remember that when you’re complaining about traffic, what someone did to you, what your life is lacking, etc. We have the choice to feast on the negatives or see the bright side of things.
(For example, be thankful you have a car to drive or money to put in your gas tank.)
Don’t allow anyone or anything today stop you from feeling grateful. Work within yourself to have a posture of gratitude not just today, but everyday.
We don’t wait until we’re joyful to be grateful — but being grateful is what makes us joyful. Remember this; gratitude isn’t an emotion, it’s a posture.
Be blessed,
Brittany ❤️
